Servers and Workstations - What's the Difference?
A server is actually an application or is a device which offers service for connected clients as a part of client server architecture. It may also be a computer system which is made to run a certain server application. Servers likewise serve applications to users on an intranet.

A workstation is a personal computer that is being used on high end applications such as video editing, graphic design, 3D design, CPU and RAM intensive programs. Workstations mostly have fast processors, a number of hard drives and a lot of its RAM memory. This may also have a special processing, video or audio card for special editing work. Workstations are in fact marketed by computer manufacturers for the professional users and servers on the other hand are utility devices. Both of it are part of a networking architecture, but they differ with its uses and functions.  Follow the link for more information about Dell refurbished servers.

Servers are the ones which keeps files such as applications, html, video and images which are made online for clients to gain access with. This also allows many computers to share the applications. The main role of workstations would be in completing high end applications such as video editing and graphic designing.

Its Uses

A workstation is made to be used only for one person at a time, but it can be accessed as well remotely by other users when necessary. Servers works by connecting users and this only have one or no users.

Workstations actually have high quality Graphical User Interface (GUI) and have efficient video and audio qualities which they usually do on work related video or audio editing. On the other hand, a server lacks GUI as well as other elaborate interface on video and audio.

A workstation and a server have various differences with them. Both of them are designed with a certain purpose. A server is in fact made for multifunctionality or in handling various tasks simultaneously and to maintain different connections and to respond on different requests. Workstations on the other hand does not need to hold that many connections, but it only needs to have a fast processor for it to handle different running applications.  Find out more information about cloud computer at https://www.huffingtonpost.com/anuj-gupta/understanding-cloud-compu_b_10682850.html.
